My name is Julia and I’m in my second semester of acting at Cours Florent in Berlin. After an exciting start to the first semester, I have now settled in well and developed certain routines. Nevertheless, there is still enough time for spontaneity and creativity. I love chatting to my professors and fellow students after lectures and rehearsals. Thanks to their honest feedback, I can continue to develop and work on my expression, presence and articulation. … Come along, I’ll show you round!
8 a.m.: Drive to the campus
Macromedia University, where the classes take place, is centrally located in the centre of Berlin. It only takes me 5 minutes by bike to get there from my flat.
9 a.m.: Coffee with the students
I start the day with a cup of cappuccino with my fellow students in a relaxed atmosphere. When the weather is nice, we enjoy the our beverages outside.
10 a.m.: Networking on the side
The campus is slowly filling up. I enjoy meeting students from other disciplines, such as filmmaking. Maybe I can take part in one of their projects one day?
11 a.m.: Seminar in a group
Today’s programme includes “Fundamentals of scenic work 2”. Together with the professor, we will look at various dramaturgical texts and discuss them passionately.
12 a.m.: Lunch break
I usually spend my lunch break with my fellow students – after all, there’s so much to talk about. We usually grab a snack from the bakery around the corner.
2 p.m.: Lecture in the afternoon
In the afternoon I have the module “Voice Development and Singing” and get direct feedback from my professor – that really helps me as an actress.
4 p.m.: Almost finished
The lectures for today are over, so it’s off on the bike and home. After all, the professor has given us some exercises and I still have to learn the monologue for the “Speech formation and situational speaking” module.
