What are the requirements?
The following requirements apply for admission to the Acting B.A. at Cours Florent:
  • High school/College leaving certificate or equivalent educational qualification (as recognised by the Ministry of Culture)
  • Applicants with a regular school leaving certificate will be considered for admission based on their performance in a selection process evaluating artistic talent (creative tasks and general knowledge test)
  • Successful audition at Cours Florent (or online audition) or successful completion of the Cours Florent acting workshop
  • Face-to-face interview, submission of application documents

Why is the workshop useful?
Cours Florent is a renowned acting school that offers 5 or 6-day acting workshops in German and English. The workshop is aimed at interested people with and without previous knowledge. Participants have the opportunity to try out the specialisations of theatre and film in the workshop. On the last day of the workshop, there will be an audition with the lecturers. Participants will receive personal feedback and a certificate for their participation in the course. If they successfully complete the workshop, they will have already fulfilled the admission requirements for the Acting B.A. programme. Is Cours Florent a college or university?
Cours Florent is a college that offers acting studies in collaboration with the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences. It is a renowned private drama school that was founded in Paris in 1967. The university offers the acting programme, which leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree. Its aim is to prepare actors and actresses for a career in the performing arts through practical experience and training. Unlike other universities or colleges, Cours Florent focuses specifically on the performing arts, and also includes business modules.
What does state-recognised mean?
State recognition gives this private university the right to conduct university examinations, award degrees (Bachelor, Master) and issue certificates, which is comparable to qualifications at state universities.
