Admission: How can I study?

Requirements: What you should bring with you

To study acting at the Cours Florent, you only need to fulfil a few requirements. We look forward to receiving your application and meeting you in person at one of our workshops or auditions.
Higher school leaving / college certificate
You need a university entrance qualification, i.e. the german Abitur or a High School Diploma. No Abitur? No problem! You can take an exam to prove your general knowledge.
Affinity for acting
Have you already gained some acting experience? Wonderful! If you’ve never been on stage before, we recommend you attend one of our workshops to prepare for the audition.
Language skills
If you do not have a school-leaving qualification from a German-speaking country, you must take a language test (C1). If you would like to study in English, you must provide proof of your language skills (C1).
A desire for dialogue
There is no anonymity with us. You study and work closely with your professors and fellow students. You should enjoy this familiar atmosphere.

Content: What we teach you

At Cours Florent, you will be trained to become a versatile actor or actress. You will learn how to work on stage and in front of the camera, train your speaking and singing voice and find out how to start your career.
Detailed acting skills
How do actors use their voice and body? How do they prepare for their roles? What acting methods are there? At the Cours Florent you will learn your craft from scratch.
Networking from the start
During various practical projects and, of course, during your internship semester, you will get to know numerous industry leaders, including casting directors, directors and television editors.
Economic thinking
How does the media industry work? How do you market yourself as a freelance actor / actress? Business content like this complements your acting studies at Cours Florent.
Perfect pronunciation
Breathing exercises as well as voice and singing training are integral parts of the acting degree programme. You will learn how to use your voice professionally, for example for theatre performances or dubbing.

What is the audition process?

For your audition, you prepare one monologue, which you choose from a monologue list, and a second, which you can choose freely. You have one week to prepare. Your performance will be judged according to the following criteria:
  • Recognisable willingness to stand on a stage / in front of a camera.
  • Ability to engage an audience mentally and emotionally.
  • Ability to integrate feedback into your own performance.
