Yuka Yanagihara

Yuka Yanagihara was born in Japan, studied at the University of Art and Music in Okinawa and at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. In addition to her extensive opera repertoire of major soprano roles, she also frequently explores the boundaries of genres. For example, she has collaborated with directors such as Paul-Georg Dittrich for the production "WUT" in Erlangen and with Anna-Sophie Mahler for "Alla fine del Mare" in Constance and at the Venice Biennale and "Eriopis" in Leipzig, as well as with Hans-Werner Kroesinger for "FRONTEX". She has also appeared on stage at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, MC93 in Paris, Schauspielhaus Hannover, the Sophiensaele and HAU in Berlin. Yuka Yanagihara regularly collaborates with Sven Holm's opera company Novoflot. She also works closely with the director David Marton, for example at the Münchner Kammerspiele in "La Sonnambula", the Opéra de Lyon in "Don Giovanni", the Staatsschauspiel Dresden in Rheingold and the Volksbühne Berlin in „Howl".
