Alex Holtsch

Alexandra Holtsch is a composer, musician and director. She teaches the module Experimental 4D.

Alexandra studied composition, singing and guitar at the Wiesbaden Conservatory. She has been composing theater music since 1992 and is also involved live in numerous projects for theaters and opera houses in Berlin, Hanover, Bremen, Heidelberg, Basel and Constance. In 2006 she developed the musical concept and the music for the scratch opera "Barcode" for the 10th Munich Biennale - International Festival for New Music Theatre in cooperation with the Munich Akademietheater and the University of Music and Theatre Munich. In 2013 she composed the music for "Der Ring: Next Generation" after Richard Wagner directed by Robert Lehniger for the Deutsche Oper Berlin. From 2016 to 2019 she was the artistic director of the format "Aus dem Hinterhalt", which she conceptualized and curated for the joinery of the Deutsche Oper. Since 2011 Alexandra focuses on directing in which she also takes over the musical direction. Furthermore she works for film and audio play.
